Landing at Taoyuan After Midnight: How Do You Get Into Taipei?
For budget-airline travelers landing after midnight — how to choose between the 24-hour bus, a taxi, or a pickup.

"We land at 1 a.m. and the Airport MRT has stopped." The Airport MRT doesn't run after midnight, so it's the 24-hour bus or a taxi. Based on Kuo-Kuang Motor Transport and airport guidance plus real traveler experiences, here's how to decide.

02 · Riding Bus 1819
Taipei terminal Since January 1, 2025, the Taipei end is Taipei Bus Station 4F, platform 409.
Ticket counter hours Terminal 1 is 24 hours; Terminal 2 runs 07:30–22:00 (as of Sept 2026). Arriving at T2 late at night, check how to buy a ticket.
EasyCard Kuo-Kuang says EasyCard and other transit cards are accepted. The T2 ticket counter is closed late at night, so top up your card before you fly.
03 · With Parents, Take a Taxi or Pickup
Getting off a bus late at night and hailing another taxi can be tiring for older parents. Airport taxis add 15% to the meter plus tolls, but take you straight to the door. Taoyuan's flag fall is NT$95 for the first 1.25km (as of Sept 2026). For larger groups, a pre-booked pickup may be easier.
04 · Late-Night Immigration Tips
Immigration runs through the night. Filling in the TWAC arrival card ahead of time speeds things up, and messaging your hotel about a late check-in helps.
