Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC): When and How Should You Fill It Out?
The latest rule — the window grew from 3 days to 7 days before arrival — plus how families can register everyone at once.

"Will they hand out arrival cards on the plane?" Since October 1, 2025, Taiwan no longer accepts paper arrival cards; you declare online through the Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC). Based on official National Immigration Agency notices and real traveler experiences, here's when and how to fill it out.

02 · How to Fill It Out
Go to the official site Fill it out at twac.immigration.gov.tw in Chinese or English; field guidance is available in seven languages including Korean.
Upload a passport photo A photo of your passport data page auto-fills your name and passport number.
Enter flight and hotel Have your arrival flight number and Taiwan hotel address ready.
Keep the confirmation email You don't need to show it at immigration, but a screenshot is reassuring.
03 · Common Mistakes
Submitting too early You can't submit more than 7 days before arrival. Do it the week you fly.
Paid third-party sites Search results include sites that charge fees, but the official TWAC is free. Make sure the address is immigration.gov.tw.
Missing a companion After submitting for your group, confirm everyone is on the list. You can still edit online afterward.
If you didn't do it beforehand Arrival airports post TWAC QR codes so you can fill it out on the spot, but it takes time when lines are long.
04 · Who Doesn't Need It
TWAC is for foreigners entering visa-free or on a visitor visa. Holders of a Taiwan residence permit don't need to file it. If you're visiting as a tourist on a foreign passport, assume you need it.
