The Sicao Green Tunnel (四草綠色隧道) is a raft ride through mangrove waterways in Annan District (安南區), Tainan. There are no restaurants on our map nearby, so heading to Anping (安平) to eat afterwards is easiest. Based on information from 雲嘉南濱海國家風景區 and 臺南旅遊網, as of October 2026.
01 · What Is the Sicao Green Tunnel?
Behind 四草大眾廟, mangroves over 50 years old grow on both sides of a drainage channel and cover it like a tunnel. It's described as Taiwan's only green waterway of its kind. One loop takes about 30 minutes.
02 · What to See from the Raft
Four mangrove species Four species of mangrove grow here: 五梨跤, 水筆仔, 欖李 and 海茄苳.
Mudflat creatures You can see fiddler crabs (招潮蟹) and mudskippers (彈塗魚) under the mangroves.
四草大眾廟 The starting point is a temple over 300 years old. Next to it is a small exhibition hall with a sperm whale specimen.
