Chimei Museum Tickets and Nearby Eats: Where to Eat After Your Visit

Tour the palace-like museum, then pick a nearby restaurant from our map in one go.

If a Tainan travel photo shows a domed building and a fountain, it's usually the Chimei Museum (奇美博物館). The indoor galleries work in any weather, so it's a good rainy-day pick. It sits in Rende District (仁德區), away from Tainan's old town, so deciding where to eat afterwards makes the day easier. Based on the museum's official visitor guide and Taiwan Tourism Administration information, as of October 2026.

01 · What Is the Chimei Museum?

It was founded by the Taiwanese company 奇美 (Chimei) and named after it. A European palace-style façade topped with a dome looks out over wide gardens. The permanent collection covers four areas: Western art, animals, arms and armor, and musical instruments.
